Simple harmonic: online simulator
Examples of writing a lab report: Show how you think, not just the right answer.
Part I:
- Periodic time: 1.3s
- K= 0.25*9.81/0.4=6.125
k=4*0.25*3.14*3.14/1.3/1.3=5.8
- The measurements errors
- Percent of difference
- Mass of unknown:
m1=kx/g=6.125*0.32/9.81=0.20kg=200g
m2=kx/g=6.125*0.285/9.81=0.20kg=178g
m3=kx/g=6.125*0.12/9.81=0.20kg=75g
k=mg/x —g=6.125*0.6/0.25=14.7
Part II:
- top/bottom —speed is zero
- Equilibrium -velocity maximum
- Equilibrium -acceleration zero
- top/bottom – acceleration maximum
- Gravity is never zero
- Spring force can be zero when it is natural.
- The distance stretched will be decreased when K is increased when you attach the same object below the vertical spring.
- x: the distance is longer:71cm
- k=mg/x —g=6.125*0.71/0.25=17.4
