Simple harmonic: online simulator

Examples of writing a lab report: Show how you think, not just the right answer.

Part I:

  1. Periodic time: 1.3s
  2. K= 0.25*9.81/0.4=6.125

k=4*0.25*3.14*3.14/1.3/1.3=5.8

  1. The measurements errors
  2. Percent of difference
  3. Mass of unknown:

m1=kx/g=6.125*0.32/9.81=0.20kg=200g

m2=kx/g=6.125*0.285/9.81=0.20kg=178g

m3=kx/g=6.125*0.12/9.81=0.20kg=75g

k=mg/x —g=6.125*0.6/0.25=14.7

Part II:

  1. top/bottom —speed is zero
  2. Equilibrium -velocity maximum
  3. Equilibrium -acceleration zero
  4. top/bottom – acceleration maximum
  5. Gravity is never zero
  6. Spring force can be zero when it is natural.
  7. The distance stretched will be decreased when K is increased when you attach the same object below the vertical spring.
  8. x:  the distance is longer:71cm
  9. k=mg/x —g=6.125*0.71/0.25=17.4
